Visconti Homo Sapiens
More than five thousand years ago Homo sapiens marked the dawn of human history and the invention of writing began. Visconti conceived the Homo sapiens range of writing instruments for real writers. This rollerball pen is made from a material that is as antique as the world around us: lava from the Etna volcano. Visconti has successfully produced a material containing over 50% pure basaltic lava, catalyzed together with resin in a patented formula. The extraordinary characteristics of basaltic lava practically transform it into a material perfectly fitted to writing instruments. The Visconti lava has a high degree of resilience making it virtually unbreakable, flame-proof with a resistance to heat over 100 C, slightly hygroscopic to absorb hand sweat during use, and it is dense to the touch, allowing the best possible finger-relaxing grip. All metallic parts of the pen were inspired by the Bronze Age. The clip, the decorative rings and the metal accessories are all natural bronze which has an appealing rose-gold color. Rollerball refills are not inserted into cartridge in order to prolong the life of the refill. If refills are requested to be inserted, there will be a $0.12 charge per piece.
